Pictures of a strange plot of land in China’s western Gansu province could a secret weapons testing facility and if one weapons expert is to be believed, it’s very similar to American installations in Nevada. Including the famed Area 51.

Tim Ripley, a defence expert from Jane’s Defence Weekly, compared the structures to similar grids in Area 51, the secret United States military test base in Nevada. “The picture of the circle looks very like a missile test range, with target and instrumentation set out to record weapon effects. The Americans have lots of these in Nevada – Area 51!” he said.

This region is known to be used by the Chinese military for secret weapons test and this kind of grid could be used to simulate city streets, presumably to test the accuracy of missiles.

“Residents in Huanshan City in East China encountered one of the best and most clearest mirage of their city a few weeks ago after a rainfall. Apparently some believed to be a “ghost city” that materialized over the Xin’an River. Yet others believed that what they were looking at was a real city from another dimension.”

It’s a pyramid. In China.

Wait, it gets weirder.

It’s on top of a mountain and is not (as far as researchers can tell) a burial tomb for a royal dynasty. In fact, local legend has it that the elevated platform has been used as a UFO launching ground.

Nine scientists form the team that will travel to the western province of Qinghai and the mouth of this 165-198 foot tall structure known as the “ET Relics.”

“The pyramid has three caves with openings shaped like triangles on its façade and is filled with red-hued pipes leading into the mountain and a nearby salt water lake,” says China’s state-run Xinhua agency.

To add to the mystery, iron debris and unusually shaped stones are scattered about the desolate area.

“The theory that the pyramid was created by extra terrestrials is “understandable and worth looking into…but scientific means must be employed to prove whether or not it is true,” says Yang Ji, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

While local legends are well and good, everybody knows that if you find a hairless, mangy creature of any kind, the answer is chupacabra. This is a bold new direction for hairless animal discoveries that will resonate around the world.
