New California Nightcrawler Video
Posted by Ryan on April 8th, 2011Back in 2008 a stick-figure creature got busted creeping around Fresno backyards and was dubbed The Nightcrawler. Recently, new footage near Fresno shows two creatures that are very similar. Check out the videos below. The kind of look like marionettes, which is actually even more disturbing to me than unknown creatures. What do you guys think?

These look a LOT like just the arms of people crawling on their handsw and knees. Imagine, if you will, a shirt with white sleeves, while everything else is black. Now watch the video again.
It would be easy to composite out a black (or chromakey, but you get the idea) bodysuit leaving only a disconnected set of sleeves.

Isn’t it funny how nobody ever gets clear video of something like this? Somehow grainy and poor quality video is a prerequisite.

I’m calling shenanigans on this particular video. The walk cycle just seems too clumsy and sloppy. Completely unlike the original Fresno Nightcrawler video, where they almost seem to glide across.
People who tried to replicate the original video with puppets came up with something that looks an awful lot like this. And like Patrick said it’d be easy to composite out a puppeteer and strings.
