What’s up with octopi lately. They’ve got all kinds of superpowers. Psychic powers, subzero venom, putting themselves into a death-like trance in order to fake their death and escape their captivity as part of their plan to conquer the world and now shape shifting. As if having eight limbs wasn’t enough already.
As for the walking turkey shape, I think it was the octopus trying to impersonate a human in as insulting a way as it could. The octopus was basically saying, “See this? This is what you look like! Hah!”

Yep, definitely trying to insult the humans.
Now think of the possibilities. Now Rebecca Romijn can become a real life Mystique with some simple human-octopus genetic manipulation!
