on the topic of everyone piling on George Lucas for “digital sets”, I believe it was even Roger Ebert who complained about this once. He was set straight when told the Prequels had some of the largest collections of miniatures ever constructed for film. It wasn’t all digital. TheForceDotNet boards have pages showing real life constructions.
People didn’t not really complain when art house movies like ‘Out of Africa’ used many enhanced backgrounds or even the ending of Captain America. I believe it was that movie where he awakes up in Times Square, yet they never filmed there. It was one of those Marvel movies with Captain America.
I guess when you make such bad screenplays, for films that people have such intense emotional connections, everyone will just jump on every aspect. Not that I want to come off as defending Episode 1 through 3 (they are terrible), just give Lucas some credit for making maybe the best cinematic universe ever.
the moral to the story, Lawrence Kasdan should have written every Star Wars movie past ‘A New Hope.’
