Lame Ghost Video
Posted by Sean on June 22nd, 2009This video, filmed by the Greater Central Ohio Paranormal Society, is being touted on the main page of Ghost Videos as evidence of a ghost girl. Are we the only ones who don’t really see…..anything of interest at all?

Is that a ghost girl or a sock puppet?
Is this footage filmed off a monitor? I'd like to see the original file from the original web cam and without the freeze when the shadow appears. I noticed some changes in the foreground, just before the shadow appears, but if this is filmed off a monitor it could be caused by the person working the camera.
All in all I'm not convinced. I think his first observation was correct and it is just a shadow and certainly not much, much more.

What’s with the annoying soundtrack?

Is this shot inside or out? If it's inside the presence of fog is a bit suspicious. I can't say I've ever seen fog inside a room which wasn't man-made. Also if the GCOPS wants to be credible it's going to have to spell check its captions such as “editting” (“editing”) and “tommorrow” (“tomorrow”). Careless spelling – careless investigation. The sped-up heart beat soundtrack adds melodrama but detracts from serious consideration anything they might have to offer. Ultimately you have to ask yourself what evidence is there for a supernatural event when all we're seeing is a video of a video which displays only a brief smudge. If this is GCOPS's “best find on film so far” I'm going to wait for more compelling evidence before I get too excited.

That was about as exciting as watching grass grow.

The “smoke” is a common artefact from old/low quality digital cameras and webcams, from the methods used to try to increase light and visibility used.
The reflection off the far wall is a direct ringer for a lower leg and foot. The darkening of the cabinet in the centre seems right for a diffused light coming through a window and the door to the left as something passes in front of the window such as, say, a lower leg and foot.
